Creating Winning Teams in Education
"Winning Teams in Education" is an initiative aimed at increasing the level of personal financial education in secondary schools in South Africa, so that all young people will leave school with the financial knowledge, life skills and confidence they need to make a positive contribution to the world of work.
The Winning Teams in Education Programme
The Winning Teams in Education programme is managed by Winning Teams, a private company. The programme sponsor is Standard Bank of South Africa. The programme is run in conjunction with various provincial education departments of South Africa.
The Programme has been running successfully for several years. In 2009, 1,800 schools participated in the Programme, reaching approximately 500,000 learners in grades 10 and 11. All nine provincial education authorities are supporting this initiative.
